Smiley is a bilingual hip-hop lyricist and performing artist that has never shied away from stepping out of his comfort zone. A risk taker at heart, he left the birthplace of Hip-hop and the comforts of his Dominican neighborhood in New York City in 2019 to dive head first into the life he could no longer allow himself to avoid. Filling only a backpack, he moved to a city that he had never stepped foot in, Oaxaca, Mexico. He had no friends or familial ties, but did have a hunch that there his true artist would emerge. In Oaxaca, Smiley has deepened his meditation practice, further established his relationship with the outdoors and continues to challenge himself to lead with action by committing to a vegan diet. Feeling more in-tune with himself, he gained the confidence needed to deliver his first musical artistic expression, Her Touch, the EP.
