Meet Smiley Rojas-Nuñez

A bilingual Hip Hop Lyricist like no other, Smiley Rojas-Nuñez wields his infectious smile and lyrical wizardry to bring love and light to all beings.A New York City native with Dominican roots, Smiley found the courage to fully delve into his Hip-Hop career after completing his first 10 day silent meditation retreat in 2018. The silence provided him with clarity and dared him to move away from his comforts guiding him to Mexico where he continues grow his connection with spirit, nature, gratitude, love and compassion.In 2024 Smiley began releasing new music with his first single "Elevate" dropping in celebration of opening for Alex Serra on Feb 17th in Mazunte. He then released "Amor Amor Amor", "Nature Walk", "Breathe", and "Blissed Out" under various independent record label's including High Vibe Records and Sacred Essence RecordingsThese releases from 2024 are all singles from Smiley's upcoming album "Channeling", a musical journey where listeners will be encouraged to to rise above their limiting beliefs and be reminded of the importance of the breath and self love.

Smiley’s dharma, his calling, his way of providing fuel for uplifting of our collective consciousness is through the sharing of the messages which he channels from Spirit. Hip-Hop is often the base for these transmissions but his music can be best described as “Self Love Music”With extensive first hand experience as a sacred space holder as well as a participant of men’s circles, tantra workshops, and 11 ten day silent meditation retreats, Smiley strives to embody the healthy masculine with a touch of humility and grace.As a son, sacred space holder and facilitator, Smiley believes in the power of love residing within each of us. He invites his audience to drop into the present moment and connect with the messages, music, movement and infinite source of love so that we may collectively elevate above and beyond the darkness.With every step towards deeper authenticity, spirit channels healing messages through Smiley which he fearlessly shares in his music.

Smiley lives in the magical town of Mazunte, his adopted home on the Oaxacan coast of Mexico. The slower pace of life, connection to nature and deeply healing waters of this town nourish and inspire him to create on a daily basis.Mazunte gives Smiley life and there he is an active member of the community providing authentic connection ceremonies, dance classes and concerts where he and other musicians can create moments of healing and deep connection for audience members. Smiley is excited to go wherever his music takes him and so far he has received and accepted invitations to perform in festivals throughout Mexico, Costa Rica and the USA. He is committed to going further but attached to no outcome.
